The Afemai people (also spelled Afenmai or Etsako) are a major ethnic group primarily located in the northern region of Edo State, Nigeria. Historically linked to the ancient Kingdom of Benin, they occupy six Local Government Areas, including Etsako West, Etsako Central, Etsako East, Owan East, Owan West, and Akoko-Edo.
